Club Open Day was a Huge Success!
The Waitemata Football Club Open Day that took place on Sunday March 12 at McLeod Park was a fantastic event that brought together the WFC football family from all around the area.
Thanks to the generous support of sponsors such as Pak'n'Save Lincoln Road, Bike Auckland, and Recreational Services, the event was able to provide a great experience for everyone who attended and made sure everyone went home smiling, especially after the free sausage sizzle!
With up to 300 people in attendance, the two-hour event was a huge success. It was great to see so many people come out and enjoy the beautiful weather while playing football, participating in various football activities with our Men’s First Team and U23 players led by Men’s Head Coach Hamish Mackay.
The event was free, making it accessible to everyone, and the committee were very happy to see the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming with plenty of opportunities to meet new people.
With the football activities overseen by Director of Football Dan Johnston, the Men’s First Team and U23 players did a great job of keeping everyone engaged and entertained throughout the event with the challenges and mini-football matches being very exciting to watch.
It was great to see the passion and enthusiasm that everyone had for the football and it was even better to see so many people register for the upcoming football season as well as purchase their apparel from our official club apparel supplier Ultra Football!
We were also lucky to have the talented Morgan Pouesi on hand to capture a number of photos from the day which can all be viewed in the album.
Overall, the Waitemata Football Club Open Day was a wonderful event that brought together the community and showcased the sport of football and our community football club. Thanks to the sponsors and organizers for making it all possible.
We look forward to seeing you all around the club during the upcoming season!
